The professional duties for the work of the Faculty are performed by the Secretary.
The Faculty may have other bodies in accordance with the Statute and by decision of the Management Board.
Senate
It is the highest professional body of the Faculty and has eleven (11) members. It is composed of eight (8) higher education teachers, three (3) students and the Dean.
Faculty Senate
The Senate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: Prof. Ivan Bajsić, Asst. Prof. Malči Grivec, Prof. Andrej Lipej, Assoc. Prof. Franci Merzel, Asst. Prof. Tomaž Perme, Prof. Mirko Soković, Prof. Janez Kopač, Asst. Prof. Matjaž Depolli, Luka Bahor, Jan Butara and Marcel Žan Jerovšek.
Academic council
The Academic Council is composed of higher education teachers and associates. Students also participate in its work, in a number equal to at least one fifth of the members of the Academic Council. The Academic Council is chaired by Asst. Prof. Marko Vrh.
The Academic Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: higher education teachers and associates (24), student representatives (6).
The Management Board
It is the governing body of the Faculty. It decides on matters of a material nature and ensures the smooth material operation of the Faculty. The work of the Management Board is directed by the chairman, who is elected by the members of the Management Board from among themselves by a majority of votes of all the members of the Management Board for a term of one year.
The Management Board of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: academician Prof. Marjan Blažič (president), Jože Derganc, Tanja Radovan.
Student Council
The Student Council is composed of student representatives. The Student Council advises and gives opinions to the competent authorities on all matters concerning the rights and duties of students. The Student Council is formed by the students of the Faculty. The term of office of the members of the Student Council lasts one year. The members of the Student Council are elected by the students of the Faculty at the Student Assembly convened at the beginning of the first lecture at the beginning of the academic year.
The Student Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: Marcel Žan Jerovšek (president), members.
The dean is the management body and professional leader of the Faculty. The Dean proposes to the Management Board, Senate and other bodies of the Faculty the adoption of general acts, decisions and policies and is responsible for their implementation. The Dean represents the Faculty and acts as its legal representative. In the event that the functions of the professional leader-Dean and the management body-Director are not separated, all contracts relating to financial or other burdens on the Faculty exceeding the value specified in the Statute, to status, organisational and institutional changes of the Faculty or its organisational units are co-signed by the Chairperson of the Management Board, unless otherwise specified in the Statute.
The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is: Prof. Andrej Lipej
The Deputy Dean assists the Dean in carrying out the duties specified by the Dean. The faculty has one or more Deputy Deans. The Deputy Dean who heads a specific organisational unit of the Faculty is responsible for his/her work based on the contract for the implementation and execution of the programme or project to the Faculty as a whole and to the specific founder of the project or programme. The Faculty has a Deputy Dean for pedagogic work. The Deputy Dean for pedagogic work directs, coordinates and supervises the implementation of all procedures of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the field of study programmes and ensures the protection of students' rights and obligations.
The Deputy Dean for academic affairs is: Assoc. Prof. Franci Merzel.
The Deputy Dean for scientific research is: Asst. Prof. Elvis Hozdić.
The Commission on Academic Affairs consists of at least two higher education teachers and the Deputy Dean for pedagogic work, who serves as ex-officio chairperson of the Commission. The members of the Commission must represent, as far as possible, all areas of the study programme.
The Commission for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: Assoc. Prof. Franci Merzel (president), Prof. Ivan Bajsić, Prof.Andrej Lipej.
The Commission for Research and Development consists of at least two higher education teachers or researchers, one of whom is the Deputy Dean for scientific research, who serves as ex-officio chairperson of the Commision. The tasks and responsibilities of the Commission for Scientific Research Work and International Relations are to supervise the development of research and development work, coordinate applications for domestic and foreign tenders, coordinate the annual work programmes of the institutes and other research units, promote interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of research and development, supervise coordinated international cooperation in teaching and research.
The Commission for Research and Development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is composed of: Asst. Prof. Elvis Hozdić (President), Prof. Mirko Soković, Matej Štefanič, Lect.
The Quality System Monitoring, Assurance and Organisation Commission consists of three members appointed by the Faculty Senate. Two members are nominated by the Dean of the Faculty from among higher education teachers and associates, and one member is nominated by the Student Council. The duties and responsibilities of the Quality and Evaluation Commission are to review the Faculty's report on monitoring, establishing and assuring quality in the area of the Faculty as a whole, education and research, to review proposals for indicators, standards and procedures for monitoring efficiency in the Faculty's main areas of activity, and to perform other duties in accordance with the general acts of the Faculty, the Faculty Regulations and the resolutions of the Senate.
The Quality System Monitoring, Assurance and Organisation Commission of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is comprised of: Milan Šturm, MSc (president), Maša Mamić, Andreja Ašič Vodopivec, Tina Piltaver (the student representative is appointed by the UNMFS Student Council).
The Commission for the Recognition of Knowledge and Skills acquired before joining the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is comprised of: Assoc. prof. dr. Franci Merzel (president), Prof. Ivan Bajsić, Prof. Andrej Lipej.
